The Sun Herald has a balanced piece on Coach Croom and the lack of talent on his football team. This quote from Jerrious Norwood stands out:
“Things aren’t as lenient as they were with Coach Sherrill. Things are different. We’ve worked harder. More conditioning. I’m not sure everybody wanted it, but we might have [...]

And thanks for bringing the “small ball” Gators. Alan Johnson took a no-no into the 6th inning as the Dogs scattered 3 hits, while putting up 19 of their own.
Well, it seems hitting is back in Starkville. Maybe Doolittle (2-0) can help bring back the pitching tomorrow. A sweep here puts [...]

The Clarion Ledger has MSU’s response to the NCAA on it’s website. It’s a real page turner. ZZZZZZ
If this were a legal case, I’m confident most of the charges would be tossed out, but the NCAA doesn’t have to work under those rules. They can pick and choose whomever, and what version of [...]

“I’m disappointed with the goal line defense,” Croom said. “I saw no passion - no heart in them. When the football gets inside the 5-yard line, that is where you see the heart of a football team. And I didn’t see one today.”
The legacy of Jackie Sherrill lives on.
PS., those M-State helmets SUCK!

The Auburn Plainsman Online - Bowden talks about time on The Plains: Part Two:
Little did Bowden know, a loss to Mississippi State would be the beginning of his undoing at Auburn.
“We’re 6-1 and we’re playing Mississippi State. I am looking at our season and I know we should beat them at home,” Bowden said. [...]

The Clarion-Ledger has a story on Lawrence Roberts’ decision to test the NBA draft waters. He sounds like people are telling him he’ll be a 1st Rounder. I hope his advice is better than the advice Mario Austin got last year. This is the money quote:
“I’m definitely going to leave my options [...]

Well, the story line last month was lack of hitting, now it seems pitching seems to be the problem. State took a led late, but was unable to make it hold longer than an inning. The Rebs scored 7 runs in the final three to win 10-4.
Oh well, who cares? This [...]

This ain’t the NFL, Sly. You’d think it be easier to run a two-minute drill in college .
“I thought they did pretty well,” Croom said. “In fact, they did better than the coach. I had to unlearn 17 years of running the two-minute drill in the NFL. I thought the players [...]

The game offers the Bulldogs another chance at Ole Miss, and a chance at a critical midweek win. A Mayor’s Trophy win will give us needed momentum going into Super Bulldog Weekend.
I wonder if Harvey Johnson will bother to show up.

The PR dept. has a story on the basketball team’s annual banquet. Some highlights from the article:
Statistically, the 2003-04 Bulldogs topped the SEC in rebounding margin (+8.0) for the fourth consecutive year, finishing the campaign ranked third nationally behind only NCAA Champion Connecticut and Gonzaga. In addition to pacing the conference in steals (9.3 [...]

Packer News has reprint of an interesting article on Coach Croom.
“The reality is, we’ve got a lot of work to do,” says Croom. “There’s a certain way I want to do things. I want to build a foundation. I’m not looking for quick fixes.”
Croom’s honesty is refreshing.
