Montgomery Advertiser: Alabama football all-stars will rely on depth.
Henig will report to Mississippi State on July 5 and begin summer school on July 7. He calls the Alabama-Mississippi High School All-Star Classic a “whole different experience” that will help prepare him for his freshman season at Mississippi State.
“Normally, you’ve got some number ones from the team and you have somebody that’s a little behind,” he said, “but these are the number ones from everybody’s team. The pace is so much faster. It’s a good learning experience.”
…The biggest learning curve for the players is at quarterback, where Propst is trying to install an attack that allows the quarterback to read the opposing defense.
“Reese comes from a real complicated system at Mountain Brook, somewhat like ours,” Propst said. “The boy from Jeff Davis [Henig] obviously hasn’t been in that type of offense but he’s a very good player. I was impressed with his arm strength. It’s better than I thought it would be.”
