That’s what this article from the Seattle Post-Intelligencer says. Glad to see Dampier making a name for himself among the NBA’s elite, maybe with a new contract, he can buy Rick that video machine LT is holding out on.

Here’s what MSNBC.com’s Mike DeCourcy writes:
Roberts and his family also took an analytical approach to his draft status. By returning to Mississippi State, he can gain the cachet that comes with postseason awards and continue to polish his face-the-basket skills. The Bulldogs won last season’s SEC regular-season title, and with Roberts back, they could be […]

You’ve got to read the excellent piece on Coach Croom in Sunday’s Memphis Commercial Appeal. It’s behind a subscription wall, but it’s worth the effort in registering.
One thing I’ve come to conclude about Croom: if he is successful at State, it will be built on a more solid foundation than the previous coach. […]

The Pensacola News Journal reports Pensacola HS Senior Athlete Adron Chambers (5′-11″, 185) committed to Mississippi State.
On the way up there, I wasn’t even thinking about (an offer),” Chambers said. “It wasn’t in my mind as far as committing there or going there. I guess after I got there, things happened.”
Chambers participated in receiving, […]

The Tupelo Daily Journal’s Gregg Ellis has an article about the NCAA forbidding MSU from hosting a preseason basketball tournament this fall. Because of the Confederate symbol on Mississippi’s flag, the NCAA is envoking a 2001 rule prohibiting State from hosting a “pre-determined” sanctioned events.
I’m not sure what to think about this. It’s […]

The 2004 Miss Mississippi Pageant crowns a winner this Saturday. Miss Heritage Hannah Baskin, Miss Meridian Tara Hughes, and (obviously) Miss MSU Brittany Childers are State students. There are probably more, but I’m unsure of who.
Here’s a link to all the contestants.

Here’s a run down of some NBA mock drafts I’ve found that list both rounds:
NBADraft.net - No Timmy B.
ProBasketball.about.com - Timmy listed as top undrafted player.
InsideHoops.com - No Timmy B.
CollegeHoopsNet.com - Timmy listed as “Next in Line.”
So, you can see it looks like Timmy Bowers will likely go undrafted. I don’t know if that […]

In today’s DM:
Is this not the same underperforming, 0-8 SEC school predicted to finish last in the West that cost the Egg Bowl its Thanksgiving timeslot? It is, but it’s also the same P.R. circus proclaiming its racial utopia in hiring the conference’s first black coach in Sylvester Croom, which happened after the Egg Bowl, […]

Yesterday State announced the game times for Tulane and the next three. According to the Sun-Herald, the Croom Era starts at 5pm September 4th on ESPN2. […]

Mississippi State: Roberts agonized over his decision to stay in the draft or go back to Starkville. As late as Wednesday night, he could be seen on ESPN’s Outside the Lines going back and forth between risking his NBA future and returning to Mississippi State.
Roberts had gone to Chicago for the pre-draft camp but […]
