Dontae, Dontae, Dontae.

Today’sBirmingham news has a piece on former MSU player Dontae Walker. Dontae seems to think the Arena Football 2 League is his stepping stone to the “the league”, meaning the NFL.
“I’m trying to bounce back,” said Walker. “All I can do is take it one day at a time. I’m letting the scouts see me and playing arena football is helping me with my blocking. I’m getting better each game.
“I wouldn’t mind playing in the Arena Football League, but I want to get back in `the league.’”
First thing, ‘Tae, the NFL doesn’t have any need for 240lb scat backs. Secondly, the AF2 is the NAIA of professional sports franchises. Also check out this line:
The late trial date has allowed Walker to focus on football. He’s slimmed down from 250 pounds to 230.
Why is he listed at 240lbs? Has he already put on another 10 pounds since camp?
I’m glad to see DW is trying to put his life back together. That’s admirable. However, I believe his future lies somewhere besides professional football. I hope he realizes that before he begins to make bad decisions again.
