Coach Sylvester Croom laid out his football philosophy at the almuni meeting in Greenwood. Here are his four strategies for winning:
“First of all, we have to be a team that does not beat itself,” Croom said.
“We will never lose a game because of lack of conditioning - I can promise you that.”
Next, the team must be “a very tough, physical, hard-nosed team.”
“We will be a team that hits hard and plays hard,” Croom said. “I want people committed to finishing everything we start. Start strong, finish strong.”
The final goal, Croom said, is to be a team that never quits.
“If we’re down in the first quarter, we can’t quit. If we’re up by 21 in the fourth, we can’t quit,” Croom said. “The game ain’t over ’til we get in the dressing room.”
