R.I.P. Bully XVIII.

According to BulldogBlitz.com, Humphrey Hartsog, AKA “Bully XVIII” has died.
Earlier this afternoon in Davis Wade Stadium at Scott field services were held for “Humphrey Hartsog”. Better known to many MSU fans as Bully XVIII. This AKC registered English bulldog was born April 17, 1993 and served proudly as the MSU mascot from October 1999 until August 2001. Humphrey was a friend and pet to Jeff and Glenna Hartsog of Jackson, MS.
Humphrey took over for Bully 17, because reportedly he had a bad disposition with the kids. Humphrey’s reign as mascot was one of the most successful in history, two bowl victories and 14-6 record.
The current Bully XIX, “Tonka”, on the other hand as brought about an 8-27 record, overseeing one of the most disastrous periods in MSU football history.
[Note: Does anyone else find it disturbing that we've had 19 mascots since Ptolemy and Bully I were introduced in 1935? What are we feeding these dogs?]
