David Stewart at the Senior Bowl
here’s one fan who thinks Stewart is a sure bet in the NFL — Sylvester Croom, a former NFL running backs coach and the current Mississippi State head coach.
“I tell the pro scouts he’s the perfect right tackle for the NFL,” said Croom, who guided the Bulldogs to a 3-8 record in his first season at the helm.
I especially like this quote:
Stewart’s former head coach isn’t the only one who is offering him praise.
“With the coaching change, he really took his play to a different level. He was well-coached,” said Phil Savage, who recently took the job as the Cleveland Browns’ general manager. He’s big. He’s tough. I thought he was a quality Southeastern Conference lineman and probably a first-day draft pick.”
Well coached…when’s the last time you heard that from an NFL type regarding a draft eligible State player?
