Mississippi State to Delaware State pipeline?
Kenny Kern will finish out his college eligibilty playing for the Delaware State Hornets. The News Journal (Willimington, DE) has a piece on Kern’s transfer:
On the field, Kern started the first six games last season and recorded 38 tackles at middle linebacker. But with the Bulldogs 1-5 prior to the game at Florida on Oct. 23, Croom chose to shake up the defense by starting several underclassmen.
“It didn’t hurt me at all. I had a good experience at Mississippi State,” Kern said of Croom’s decision to bench him. “You know how it goes with new coaches. They don’t have the ones they want, so they bring in new guys. There’s no reason to get hot or mad.”

Lavan said Croom told him he would recommend any other players from MSU who are still looking for a transfer college.“The offshoot is, here’s a fellow coming into a program like ours,” Lavan said. “Hopefully there will be a chain of players who want to keep playing and attain some success given their situation.”
HOPEFULLY, the chain of disaffected players has been broken. There’s no way we can build any kind of depth losing handfulls of upperclassmen a year. No, this is a one year deal. Hopefully.
