Where are the now? Kevin Fant
Former MSU QB Kevin Fant has returned to his high school alma mata as an assistant football coach. After the beating he took during his time at State, it’s surprising he’d have anything to do with the sport.
“I just wanted to stay around football,” Fant said. “There is a satisfaction for me in teaching it. I wanted to do something and be happy with it, and one day I would like to be a coach/athletic director like coach Alex (Moss Point head coach/AD Jerry Alexander).
“He told me before spring that he didn’t mind me helping out, and it sure is fun being around the school again.”
“I have never regretted going to State,” Fant said. “The biggest thing was that I put too much stress on myself. Especially the last two years. I put a lot on my shoulders. If I would have kept a better head, there’s no doubt I would have played much better.”
