Fans Urged To Contact Local Hotels
Mississippi State fans who currently hold hotel reservations in the Golden Triangle area for the purpose of attending this weekend’s MSU-Murray State football season opener are encouraged to contact their respective hotels to inquire about the hotel’s need for additional rooms for displaced victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Many Golden Triangle hotels are currently housing evacuees. In particular, fans who have reservations, but are not planning to attend the game, are encouraged to call and cancel those reservations to aid the victims.
Mississippi State University has asked all hotels to not displace any evacuee. In addition to providing complimentary tickets to evacuees, the MSU Athletic Department will collect monetary donations at all entrances to Davis Wade Stadium at Saturday’s game.
Several hotels in the Golden Triangle area are reporting vacancies for this weekend.
