MSU Preps for Alabama
The Starkville Daily News takes a look at the preparations the Bulldogs are making for Saturday when Alabama rolls into town ranked #4 in the country.
“It’s going to take a great effort on our part to have a chance to win the football game,” said Croom. “It’s going to take a great deal of preparation. What I’ve asked our players to do (is realize) we can’t just prepare in our meetings with our coaches, they have to sacrifice some time this weekend. They have to give up a little something extra.”
One of the biggest changes is replacing Junior QB Omarr Conner with red-shirt fresman Michael Henig.
“Mike has been doing well, if he hadn’t been doing well we would have stuck with Omarr. I don’t like changing quarterbacks just to change quarterbacks,” said Croom.
“We liked things, particularly the intangibles we saw in him,” said Croom. “Those things have been evident since he’s been here. He’s an intense competitor and has a knack for turning his mistakes into positives and as he continues to improve I think he will get even better as time goes along.”
