Mississippi State University President Dr. Charles Lee has appointed MSU Director of Athletics Larry Templeton, his wife Linda Jo, and Bulldog head football coach Sylvester Croom and his wife Jeri, as chairpersons for the Hurricane Katrina relief effort “MSU Warms The Coast.”
Created specifically to provide coats and jackets for youth on the Gulf Coast area ravaged by Katrina, “MSU Warms The Coast” will accept warm clothing items and blankets for coast residents still living in shelters.
MSU athletic department staff, spouses and support groups will collect the clothing items beginning this Saturday, Nov. 5, at the State-Alabama football game. Four MSU trucks will be stationed on both the west and east sides of Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field at Gates 2, 9, 14 and 15 to receive the donations.
