Mississippi State running back Jerious Norwood was taken in Round 3 of the NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, joining former Dawgs Justin Griffith and Fred McCrary. Six MSU football players have plead guilty to assaulting an off-duty police officer.
Cornerback Derek Pegues, safety Keith Fitzhugh, offensive tackle Michael Gates, quarterback Tray Rutland and defensive ends Charles Burnes and Quinton Wesley _ all freshmen _ were each fined $500 and received six-month suspended sentences for misdemeanor simple assault.

May 2nd will be the date of the 16th Annual Bulldog Classic here in Birmingham. In addition to Coach Croom speaking at the dinner, Wayne Madkin will be on hand as well, playing golf with the title sponsor team.
