I have been wanting to try my hand at creating a widget for OS X for some time now. With the football season looming in the future, I figured now would be as good a time as any.

First up is the MSU Kickoff Countdown widget. This widget counts down to 7:00 pm August 31, 2006, when our Bulldogs will take on the South Carolina Gamecocks in the first Division I football game of the year.

If you are a Mac user, download the widget below.

The widget will download in a ZIP package. Just unzip it and install it. Remember that you must be running at least OS X 10.4 to use widgets.

Look for the MSU Schedule Widget in the next few days.
