Great article in today’s Sun Herald about JuCo transfer Tony Burks, a 6-4/215 wide receiver that arrived on campus this past spring from Gulf Coast Community College. Coach Croom already believes that he will have a huge impact on our offense this year. Position coash Guy Holliday has made the statement that although he has some work to do, the position is Burks to lose.

Holliday admits Burks is still adjusting to the Bulldogs’ version of the West Coast offense, after playing in more of a spread scheme at Gulf Coast. Burks had 44 receptions for 638 yards and three touchdowns last season, and he was recruited by the likes of State, Ole Miss, Arkansas and Oklahoma State. Burks actually signed with Ole Miss while at Harrison Central before enrolling at Gulf Coast.
