Mike Henig Feature
The Montgomery Advertiser has a feature article today on quarterback Mike Henig,
who played high school ball at Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery.
“I think I’ve proven I’m tough enough,” Henig said. “I’ve heard that all my life, ‘everything that has happened to you has been given to you.’ I’ve been working at my dad’s office since I was 5 years old — selling coats, boxing up coats, shipping out coats, hanging up coats, doing everything. People who think that, that’s fine. A lot of people think I’m too short, but the difference between 6-11/2and 6-21/2 is that much (indicating an inch with his fingers). If that little amount hurts me, I think I can handle it.”
Apparently, Woody McCorvey had Henig in mind when he joined Coach Crooms staff, and convinced Croom that Henig could be an SEC-caliber quarterback.
