The Clarion-Ledger posts a great interview with Jerious Norwood as he talks about his expectations as he begins his first camp with the Atlanta Falcons. Norwood is competing for the backup position to Warrick Dunn, which is currently held by T.J. Duckett. Duckett has been the subject of trade rumors recently and many analysts see [...]

I got an e-mail today from Joel Gamble. He is in pursuit of the Utlimate Football Project, which is to attend a football game in every D-I stadium in the country. He will kick-off this season by attending the MSU season opener against South Carolina.
A pretty interesting task he has on his hands. If he [...]

The Starkville Daily News has a great feature on Brandon Thornton today. I remember seeing Brandon play when he was here at Homewood High and he could really make some things happen on the field.
It appears that he has turned into a real workhorse this summer after missing most of the spring practices because of [...]

Here is a video clip from EA NCAA 2007 showing Davis-Wade Stadium.
A few of the details I noticed:
“Leo Seal M Club” name is on the building.
Stone near the exit from locker room has inscription on it commemorating Scott Field.
Band is in place is usually occupies on game day.
Between the M Club and East Side, you [...]

Sports Illustrated/Athlon has posted their preview of the 2006 Mississippi State football team. This is another great look at how our team looks leading up to the season opener with South Carolina. I especially love this quote from Coach Croom:
Two years of 3-8, this is the last time for that. I’ve been patient, and my [...]

One of the biggest questions that most college football fans have when a new version of NCAA Football comes out is how well is my school represented. Did they get the uniforms right, did they get the stadium right, etc.
Here are some pics posted by a forum member over at Dawg’s Bite that shows some [...]

I have a template for creating custom covers for EA’s NCAA 2007 game, but I need some photos. If anyone has any high-quality shots of players, preferrably in action at a game, and would be willing to let me use one for the cover, I would be eternally grateful. A good Jerious Norwood shot would [...]

Great article in today’s Sun Herald about JuCo transfer Tony Burks, a 6-4/215 wide receiver that arrived on campus this past spring from Gulf Coast Community College. Coach Croom already believes that he will have a huge impact on our offense this year. Position coash Guy Holliday has made the statement that although he has [...]

After spending time playing pro basketball in Italy, Shane Power is heading back to Starkville to complete his master’s degree and join Rick Stansbury’s coaching staff. His thoughts on how our young squad will do next season?
“This year is going to be better,” Power said. “I spent a couple weeks with the guys. I really [...]

FoxSports has released their running back ranking for each team in the NFL, and they are looking for Jerious Norwood to become the main backup for Warrick Dunn this year.
31-year-old running backs don’t repeat career years. It’s as true now as it was four paragraphs ago. With 90 fewer carries in 2005 than Tiki Barber [...]

Looks like we will have more hotel options soon in Starkville. Hilton is planning a 6-story hotel for the area.
Rezoning the area near the Highway 12 Bypass and Highway 82 in Starkville will set the stage not just for a new upscale hotel, on which construction will begin soon, but also a host of other [...]
