Colton Jenkins Commits To Mississippi State
Winona (MS) High School offensive lineman Colton Jenkins has become Mississippi State’s 20th commitment this year. This is, of course, a verbal, non-binding commitment. Players will sign official, binding letters in February.
“I love Mississippi State,” Jenkins told Scout.com. “I have been a Bulldog fan through thick and thin. It’s something that is just in my blood. My papaw is a die-hard fan. He has been with them through the glorious times and the bad times. My mom has worked at State for about 14 years. Around my house it’s just always been maroon.”
He apparently came close to commiting to Ole Miss over the summer, but felt more comfortable at State when it all came down to it.
“It’s been difficult some times,” Jenkins said. “I thought about Ole Miss a lot, but when I got deeper and really looked at things for myself, I felt more comfortable at Mississippi State. Once I got the chance to talk to the coaches at both schools, I just felt more comfortable with coach (Sylvester) Croom and coach (J.B.) Grimes. When I talk to them it feels just like I am talking to my high school coach. It’s just comfortable.”
Another quality pick-up for Coach Croom. I think this is our 5th O-line commit so far.
