Brian Johnson Transfers To Mississippi State
ESPN is reporting that former Louisville forward Brian Johnson has transferred to State. While he is eligible to begin practicing with the squad this season, he will not be eligible to play until the 2007-2008 season. Johnson, a 6-9 245-pound junior, will redshirt this season and still have two seasons of eligibility.
Johnson, out of Oak Hill Academy (Va.), was a highly touted arrival at Louisville but injuries marred his career with the Cardinals. He missed the 2004-05 season with a knee injury. He averaged just 10 minutes a game last season, averaging 3.2 points and 3.2 rebounds.
State is looking for Johnson to follow in the footsteps of many of our recent power forwards - Dampier, Washington, Austin and Roberts.
