Coach Croom signed 4 JUCO players last year with the intent to have them bring maturity and leadership to the team. Wide receivers Tony Burks and Ryan Mason, left tackle J.D. Hamilton and linebacker Tim Bailey are all epxected to do just that.

The Commercial Dispatch is reporting that Jeffrey Rea, who was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 33rd round, will return to Starkville for his senior season with the Mississippi State baseball team.

Winona (MS) High School offensive lineman Colton Jenkins has become Mississippi State’s 20th commitment this year. This is, of course, a verbal, non-binding commitment. Players will sign official, binding letters in February.

The new Cullis Wade Depot opened its doors Tuesday with the opening of the Barnes & Noble Bookstore. A Welcome Center and Clock Museum will also open soon.

If you haven’t heard, there is a lot of construction going on at Mississippi State University right now. Old, out dated buildings are coming down, new buildings are going up, and roads are being re-routed. Someone who hasn’t been campus is 4 or 5 years might have a hard time finding their way around.
