Mississippi State Fan Files Lawsuit Over Basketball Seating
The Humphrey Coliseum (or The Hump, as it is commonly referred to) has been open since 1975. There has never been a system for selling seats to basketball games. Unlike football, there has never been a set amount that you had to donate in order to get good seats.
This year, the athletic department decided to change that, and restructured the seating based on the amount of giving and how long you have donated. Matthew Wiggins, Jr., an attorney from Clinton, MS has filed a lawsuit to prevent the athletic department from doing this, claiming that he should be able to keep the seats he has renewed each year since The Hump opened in 1975.
