Wade Bonner Commits to Mississippi State
Fayette-Ware (Tennessee) senior defensive back Wade Bonner has officially committed to Mississippi State. He is the first player in 10 years to commit to a Division-I school. Bonner is also ranked 19th overall by Rivals.com among Tennessee’s 2007 class.
Bonner, who is 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds, also received interest from the universities of Tennessee and Arkansas.
But he said three things in particular weighed heavily in his decision to play for Bulldog Head Coach Sylvester Croom.
“They offered me a scholarship in March,” he recalled. “And they stayed with me until this point. To me, they showed love.”
The Fayette native, who amassed 2,380 all-purpose yards and 18 touchdowns this season for the Wildcats, said Croom will likely begin playing him as a freshman.
