Sunday, September 30th, 2007

Here is some info on Chris Relf, who will more than likely become our #2 QB with Riddell out for the season and Henig still out from surgery on his hand.

Ranked No. 29, regardless of position, in the state of Alabama in SuperPrep Magazine’s season-ending list of the top prospects in the state
Was the second-best [...]

Josh Riddell Injured, Out For The Season

Sunday, September 30th, 2007

The Clarion-Ledger is reporting that after an MRI today, Josh Riddell learned that he would require season-ending surgery to repair an injury he sustained to his knee (ACL) during the Bulldogs loss at South Carolina Saturday.
This leaves Wes Carroll as the lone QB with any kind of in-game experience on the Bulldog offense. With junior [...]

Gregg Ellis is reporting on his blog that Zach Harrington has quit the Mississippi State football team. He transferred last year from Southeastern Louisiana and has not climbed very high in the depth chart.
This was apparently confirmed by MSU Media Relations director Mike Nemeth.

Anthony Dixon and Christian Ducre: Double Dose

Thursday, September 27th, 2007

Kyle Veazey has a great profile on Anthony Dixon and Christian Ducre, Mississippi State’s #1 and #2 running backs. You can find it over at the Clarion-Ledger site.
In MSU’s past two games, he has rushed for 114 yards and what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in a 19-14 win at Auburn.

Random Acts of Kindness From Brandon Cox

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

Someone forwarded me a link to this fake letter from MSU DB Anthony Johnson to Auburn QB Brandon Cox thanking him for lifting his spirits by throwing him the ball in Saturday’s game.
It is pretty funny.
But then in the first quarter, you somehow knew that I was down, and decided to cheer me up. [...]

I have had a few people ask me about using it as a background, so I saved it out in a few different sizes and uploaded it to the server.

Michael Henig Injury Update

Sunday, September 16th, 2007

It appears that Mike Henig has a fracture in his right (throwing) hand. After surgery, he is expected to be out for 2-4 weeks.
I wonder if Carroll will immediately step up as the defacto starter or if it will be a week-to-week decision based on who has the better practices.
