Mississippi State Rebounds Against Tulane
The Bulldogs rebounded well against Tulane today in New Orleans, winning the game convincingly by a score of 38-17.
Gabe O’Neal kicked off the game with an interceptin that was returned for a touchdown. Tulane and State went back and forth after that, answering each other’s score and were tied up at 17-17.
In the third quarter, Henig completed an 8-yard pass to fullback Jeremy Jones to take the lead over Tulane. That was followed up by a 27 yard touchdown run by halfback Anthony Dixon, who also had a 7 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to bring the final score to 38-17.
The Bulldogs racked up 489 yards in total offense, spreading it evenly between rushing (266 yards) and passing (223 yards), which I guess is more in the spirit of the WCO.

It was good to see the team perform well. I fear that the main reason they seemed to do so well during the second half was because Tulane’s defense was tired and was not deep (the same thing that happened to use against LSU).
I think most fans wanted to see Riddell come in, just to see what he was capable of, but we got freshman wesley carroll instead, and he just handed off to halfback Justin Williams, who ran very well.
Next weekend, the Bulldogs travel to Auburn for an 11:30 matchup that will be televisted by Lincoln Financial Sports. There are still plenty of Mississippi State vs. Auburn Tickets available. I will be there and hope to see a great game wrapped in Maroon and White.
