Mississippi State Defeats Gardner-Webb, 31-15
Mississippi State got its third consecutive win Saturday against the Gardner-Webb Running Bulldogs, amassing 379 yards of total offense on its way to victory. This puts the bulldogs at 3-1 for the first time since 2000 going into Columbia next weekend to face SEC East foe South Carolina.
Anthony Dixon racked up 86 yards rushing on 6 carries and 2 touchdowns. Christian Ducre also had a good day with 52 yards of his own. Both Wes Carroll and Josh Riddell took time under center. Riddell was 8-for-11 with 124 yards, a touchdown and interception.
The second half seemed to be a completely different team, with the Bulldogs racking up penalty yards and making small mistakes that allowed Garder-Webb to score. In all, Mississippi State had 102 yards in penalties.
Next week, the Bulldogs travel to South Carolina to face the Gamecocks, who are coming off a tough road game against LSU in Baton Rouge.
