Wes Carroll Selected as SEC Freshman of the Week
Mississippi State freshman quarterback Wes Carroll has been selected by the SEC as the Freshman Player of the Week for his performance in the Bulldogs victory over the Kentucky Wildcats. This is the first time Carroll has been honored with this distinction.
“The biggest thing for us was tempo and getting a quick play called. We executed really well all the plays that were called and didn’t miss too many calls against their defense. We didn’t have many missed assignments, which was important for us.” - QB Wes Carroll
- Carroll completed 17-of-28 passes for 152 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions in Mississippi State’s 31-14 win at Kentucky.
- Carroll completed eight of his first nine passes for the game.
- He directed the Bulldogs to scoring drives on their first two possessions (14 plays, 80 yards, 5:52 and 17 plays, 80 yards, 6:41).
- Carroll has thrown 137 passes this season without an interception.
