The voting has opened for the year’s top Pontiac Game Changing Performance. Eight of the 13 plays are from SEC games, which says a lot about the caliber of SEC football this year.

The voting has closed on the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year. Over 290,000 fans voted and the results are in. Coach Sylvester Croom was voted as the Division IA Coach of the Year by the fans.

Coach Ron Polk announced yesterday that Homewood (Alabama) High left-hander David Hayes had officially signed a scholarship to play with the Diamond Dogs.

Looks like Coach Croom was on the recruiting trail Tuesday, visiting MSU commitment Terrance Davis, a quarterback at Salem High School in Georgia.

The Mississippi State ticket office has announced that it will begin taking orders for bowl tickets on Monday, December 3.

Mississippi State defensive back and special teams player Derek Pegues has earned SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for his 75-yard punt return in the 4th quarter that helped Mississippi State comeback from a 14-0 deficit to defeat rival Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl.

After trailing the rebels for most of the game, the Bulldogs tied the game on a punt return for a touchdown by Derek Pegues. Adam Carlson put the Dogs on top with a 48-yard field goal with 12 seconds left to play.
This win gives the Dawgs a 7-5 record and more post-season options.
