The latest men’s basketball polls have been released today, and Mississippi State makes an appearance at #25 in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. We are 1 out of the AP poll (#26) with 112 votes. This tells me that people are starting to pay attention to the Bulldogs but aren’t sold on the team yet.

Sure, we man-handled the Rebels, but some of their more experienced players were in foul trouble too early in the game to be as physically aggressive as they could have been.

The next two games are key. If we can beat Arkansas on the road Wednesday night and Tennessee at The Hump next Saturday, our ranking will sky rocket (top 15 maybe?). Otherwise, the voters will consider us a flash in the pan and push us back out of the top 25 quickly.
