To prep for this weekend’s game against Kentucky, I sent some questions over to fellow SEC Power Poll voter Glenn from the UK blog A Sea of Blue to learn more about the Wildcats. Here are my questions in bold along with his answers.
Kentucky seems to have had a pretty good year, playing Alabama and [...]

Nothing has really changed for me in the SEC Power Poll, but here is my ballot for week 9 anyway.
1. Alabama - A solid game against the Vols, and they even scored in the second half.
2. Florida - Tebow and Co. tore Kentucky to shreds.
3. Georgia - The Bulldogs put together a solid game against [...]

Here is how I see the SEC stacking up in the 8th week of the 2008 college football season.
1. Alabama - If they can’t get it together in the second half, they will end up losing a game soon. Is it possible to go into a prevent offense?
2. Florida - Sure they lost to Ole [...]

We don’t usually cover softball here on the blog, but I thought I would mention that the Mississippi State softball team just wrapped up their fall campaign of exhibition games with a perfect 8-0 record (the first two games were rained out).
They will kick off their spring schedule in February with some non-conference games before [...]

The SEC Power Poll is out for week 7. Alabama has a firm hold on the #1 spot and Mississippi State actually moved to #10 ahead of Tennessee and Arkansas. A win in Knoxville this weekend could push us up to #9 over Auburn.
Alabama, 251 points (20 first-place votes)
Florida, 230.5 (1)
Georgia, 209.5
LSU, 187
South Carolina, 158

Here is my SEC Power Poll ballot for week 7.
Alabama
The Tide stays on top thanks to being undefeated and having a bye week. They should take care of Ole Miss easily this weekend.
Florida
The Gators really took it to LSU and made them look like the Tigers from the Plains. The Hat just couldn’t get anything [...]

This Saturday’s matchup between Mississippi State and Tennessee has been picked up by ESPN Gameplan. There is no word on blackouts yet. Since the game is in Tennessee, it would seem probable that it will NOT be blacked out in Mississippi, but we will have to wait and see.
The game will also be broadcast on [...]

Kyle Veazey posted this on his blog a little while ago and I thought it was pretty interesting. So far this season, the Bulldogs and the Vols are very similar, statistically speaking that is. Here are the numbers he came up with:
Points per game: Tennessee 17.3, Mississippi State 16.3
Offensive yards per game: Mississippi State 300.7, [...]

Chris Low of ESPN awarded Croom a helmet sticker for Week 7. Here is what he had to say:
Croom has taken some heat this season, and fans with short memories are grumbling. He had his Bulldogs ready to play, and they did all of the things it takes to win in knocking off previously unbeaten [...]
