The Clarion-Ledger has a piece on Mario Austin’s return to basketball. He’s playing for the Jackson Rage, a World Basketball Association franchise. I won’t rehash Austin’s ill-fated trip to Russia, but here is the money line:
“I’m looking at it as a good opportunity to show what I can do,” Austin said. “I’m taking it as job, just like I did in high school and at Mississippi State. I’ve got to do my job, or I’m going to be shipped out of here.”
Austin admitted to The Clarion-Ledger in January that his decision to leave Mississippi State early was a mistake, fueled by what he said was bad information from Duffy. But he said this week he would probably do the same thing again.
