Coach Croom’s Plans
BamaMag.com has a great article about Coach Croom and his preparation for becoming a head coach.
In the article/interview, Coach Croom talks about having a plan for what you want to accomplish and how you will accomplish it when you become a head coach, regardless of where you are. He did not have that plan on paper when he interviewed for the Alabama job.
So that summer I spent my entire vacation putting down on paper everything I believed in, everything I expected the coaches to do, what kind of uniforms we were going to have, everything. All of it was done the summer I didn’t get the Alabama job. That’s what I did on my summer vacation the summer before I went to Mississippi State. It was all on paper.
