Croom signs contract
According to the Clarion-Ledger, Coach Croom has finally signed his contract. The media seems impressed by the fact there’s a non-compete clause with other league members, effectively making the Bama job a closed issue. I wonder, however, what kind of out Croom has for the pros. Let’s say an NFL job comes open after three or four successful seasons at State — perhaps the Green Bay Packers job? That scares me more than Alabama ever could. The silver lining being, if Croom is successful enough to be an NFL candidate, MSU will certainly be on a healthy footing. Being a stepping stone in this case would be a good thing.
