Expect decent crowds at Sugar Bowl Classic
Virginia Tech’s football and basketball teams to be showcased in New Orleans:
GOOD TIMING: Along with the Virginia Tech football team, the Hokies’ basketball team is playing here this week, meeting Mississippi State in the Sugar Bowl Classic on Thursday night.
“If we could schedule like that all the time, it would be a wonderful thing,” Virginia Tech athletic director Jim Weaver said. “The folks on the Sugar Bowl committee must have known something.”
I imagine a number of Hokie fans will make the early trip over to N.O. to check out the basketball team.
