Jerious Norwood Selected in Round 3 by Atlanta Falcons
Mississippi State running back Jerious Norwood was taken in Round 3 of the NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons, joining former Dawgs Justin Griffith and Fred McCrary. Apparently some scouts were worried about Norwood’s small size and lack of lower body strength, dropping him to a projected 4th round pic.
No information on the details of Norwood’s contract have been released, but as a comparison, Justin Griffith went in the fourth round in 2003 and inked a deal for around $1.7 million for four years.
Other MSU players still in the draft that could go in todays final rounds are defensive players Kevin Dockery and Willie Evans, and offensive lineman Chris McNeil.
