Lawrence Roberts: Preseason POY?

Roberts and his family also took an analytical approach to his draft status. By returning to Mississippi State, he can gain the cachet that comes with postseason awards and continue to polish his face-the-basket skills. The Bulldogs won last season’s SEC regular-season title, and with Roberts back, they could be in position to contend for their first Final Four berth since 1996.
“Preseason player of the year, things of that nature, who can say that’s a bad thing?” Roberts says. “Being considered for certain awards, having a great team behind you — who can get mad at that?”
