Mississippi State and Tennessee Statistically Similar
Kyle Veazey posted this on his blog a little while ago and I thought it was pretty interesting. So far this season, the Bulldogs and the Vols are very similar, statistically speaking that is. Here are the numbers he came up with:
- Points per game: Tennessee 17.3, Mississippi State 16.3
- Offensive yards per game: Mississippi State 300.7, Tennessee 299.5
- Rushing yards per game: Tennessee 122.2, Mississippi State 121.5
- Passing yards per game: Mississippi State 179.2, Tennessee 177.3
- Third down conversions: Mississippi State 36 percent, Tennessee 33 percent
- Touchdowns scored: Tennessee 13, Mississippi State 12
Interesting indeed. Mississippi State may have more of a chance this to beat Tennessee this year than any other time they have played.
