Mississippi State – Auburn Post Game
Final Score: Auburn 3, Mississippi State 2
Wow. That was just a classic, SEC defensive game. Kudos to the defense on both teams. I am also glad to hear that Auburn RB Brad Lester is ok. Turns out his injury was just a sprained neck, which is much less serious than it looked when he was carted off the field.
I will write a full review of the game later tonight or tomorrow. Both offenses have their issues, but there were some questionable calls by MSU. Going for it on 4th near midfield, airing it out after the last fumble recovery when we probably should have run some short-yardage plays and got in range for a FG.
Auburn’s offense seemed to get worse as the night wore one. I am sure Tommy was pacing the sideline cursing the spread offense with every step, wishing he could just line up in the “I” and run the ball.
Looking ahead, Georgia Tech also lost to Virginia Tech today, so I am guessing our game will get picked up for the Raycom broadcast at 11am and not the 2:30pm ABC Regional broadcast. We will know for sure tomorrow.
