Mississippi State – Vanderbilt Game Day Linkage
The family and I are about to pack up and head to Meridian for the day to visit family. That is good since it means I will be able to listen to Jack call the game today (since it is only on PPV). Before we head out, here are some links for you.
The Sporting News says what just about everyone else has been saying – that Vandy is a lot like Mississippi State this year.
The Commercial Appeal talks about the Bulldogs narrowing their focus and taking the season 1 game at a time, starting with the Commodores.
The Tennesseean talks about the toughness of the Mississippi State defense. They even talk to Watson Brown about his 42-7 loss while coaching at Vandy in 1989: “We had 11 guys come off the plane that couldn’t play the next week,” the current Tennessee Tech coach recalled this week. “We ran out of crutches down there. It was unbelievable the physical issues we left that game with. I think we lost three or four players for the season. It’s the worst I can ever remember in one game.”
