MSU Coaching Search - Day 3
Well, its day 3 of the Mississippi State coaching search and there really isn’t much news at all. Fans on all the forums are throwing around names like Bowden, Patterson, Wilson…I have even seen folks suggest that Tubberville will be stepping down at Auburn and coming to MSU within the next day or so.
Even Fulmer’s name is coming up.
Here is the deal. Greg Byrne has said that this will be a closed search with only a few people “in the know” until it is time to make something official so I am going to keep from making any posts about potential coaches until there is concrete evidence on the subject.
There has been some news lately. Unless you subscribe to the “Pine Box Theory“, you can take Chris Petersen (Boise State) and Brian Kelly (Cincinatti) off your list. Both have said that they plan to stay where they are even though they are red hot coaching prospects and will probably be mentioned for just about any job that comes open.
Also, Marshall Ramsey of the Clarion-Ledger nailed the MSU coaching situation in a recent editorial cartoon.
