No Further Disciplinary Action For Footbal Players

Coach Croom has annouced that there will be no further disciplinary action taken against the 6 players who were arrested at an off-campus night club after an altercation with an off-duty police officer.

“The legal system has worked, and our players have been penalized by the court,” Croom said. “They have each paid a hefty fine and essentially they are on probation for two years.

It appears that the players will remain suspended from the team (and team activities) through the end of the spring semester. The suspension will be lifted when the team reports back to campus this summer.

Croom had announced last month that all six players were banned from off-campus activities at Level III, the site of the altercation, and that they would face an 11 p.m. curfew through the end of the spring semester. The six student-athletes were suspended from the team for the final week of spring drills, instead facing disciplinary work with the MSU strength and conditioning staff. Each is also required to participate in on-campus sensitivity counseling and training.
