Ole Miss Self-Reports Contact Between Deuce and Recruits
I just can’t help but comment on this situation. It has been building up on the various MSU message boards ever since Deuce was spotted at the game. I am not going to comment on whether he was on the sideline or not becuase I wasn’t there and I didn’t see any video or pictures, so I am just going to leave it that he was AT the game.
One thing that jumped out at me today while reading the various articles that are popping up around the web (ESPN, AP, Clarion-Ledger, etc) are some differences in the events of that night.
According to an article by Chuck Rounsaville of the Ole Miss Spirit website:
Deuce was in Decatur, MS, watching a hoops game when he decided to drive to Meridian to see Meridian and Oak Grove square off in a AAAAA playoff game, which turned out to be a “barn burner.”
That makes it sound like Deuce decided, out of the blue, to drive to Meridian from Decatur for the football game. Compare that with what is being said in the AP story, as well as the Clarion-Ledger article written by Michael Wallace. This article seems to be the basis for the AP wire story, so I will just quote from it:
McAllister, a former Ole Miss standout, attended the game as a guest of Meridian assistant principal Sherrod Miller. Miller is a cousin of Romaro Miller, the former Ole Miss quarterback who was a teammate of McAllister.
Interesting, no? With all the links in this story – Deuce in Meridian, at a high school whose assistant principal is related to another Ole Miss quarterback – there has to be more than meets the eye here.
