Tray Rutland

With starting QB Michael Henig going down in the first half of the season opener against South Carolina with a broken collar bone, the task of running the offense now falls on redshirt freshman Tray Rutland. Here is a little recap for those who may not be familiar with Tray.

Rutland is listed at 6-2, 221 lbs. He was recruited out of East Point (Ga.) Tri-Cities High School as a 2-star QB, and most recruiting sites commented on his athleticism and his strong arm. He certainly showed some of these qualities last night, ripping off a long pass to Keon Humphries on his first snap. He was also able to scramble once or twice when his passing options closed up.
