Tyler Russell Named To 2008 Dandy Dozen
MSU commit (verbal) and Meridian High QB Tyler Russell has been announced as part of The Clarion-Ledger’s 2008 Dandy Dozen.
Russell (6 feet 4, 205 pounds) completed 146 of 274 passes for 2,481 yards and 26 touchdowns in 2007 despite missing 2 1/2 games with a bruised knee. He also rushed for seven scores.
Russell’s junior season was highlighted by a five-TD night in Meridian’s 50-14 victory over Ocean Springs in the 5A quarterfinals.
The Dandy Dozen is the Clarion-Ledger’s annual list of its top 12 high school football players in Mississippi.
