The Bulldogs are not one of the top teams in the SEC, as Roberts simply does not have enough help around him. Expect Walsh to have his first breakout game since returning from injury, leading his team to a strong road win.
“They are probably in the process of learning how to play without Frazier, just like we were in the process of learning to play without Matt Walsh a few weeks ago,” Donovan said.
The process has taken longer because Frazier was Mississippi State’s best perimeter defender.
“He was a big steal guy for them and got them out on the break similar to how Corey (Brewer) gets us some steals every game,” senior forward David Lee said. “I think that hurts them defensively, and I think it’s just having another player in the backcourt that can hit open shots for them, that hurts them.”
The Sun Herald also has a story on frosh Walter Sharpe:
“When I started to hit a couple shots, I feel like I contributed,” Sharpe said. “Then I got a couple rebounds, a couple blocks and I started to feel better. Whatever I can do to help out Lawrence Roberts, that’s what I’m going to do.”
